John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people with his songs. Many of these are based on Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for many to visit Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver is now the embodiment of Colorado to the everyone around the world. While traveling, I may meet people at the other end of the planet. Like, for instance, someone who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are Colorado-based, Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time within small Folk Music groups. The track was written with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that it was destined to be the next hit single. Following the performance at Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver recorded it just days later.
